Closs & Hamblin
Formally known as C&H - Closs & Hamblin are a home and haberdashery retail chain which pride themselves on their expert knowledge and bespoke services they offer such as curtains and blinds.
With an ageing customer demographic and a brand which didn’t reflect the quality of product and service; C&H opted for a complete rebrand and strategy implementation to improve company profits. The previous logo was very outdated and it also didn’t reflect the quality of their products and services.
The client were apprehensive about rebranding as they didn’t want to alienate an existing customer base but they knew they needed to change in order to reach the upper-end of the market space associated with the likes of The White Company and Farrow & Ball.
I evolved the C&H brand into Closs & Hamblin – the names of the two founding families. I kept the ampersand and used it as a device to not only interact with the type, but to pay homage to the brand’s roots in textiles and haberdashery expertise. As well as a new identity; full comprehensive brand guidelines were also created which included usage rules of the brand assets and with the help of a copywriter, tone of voice and brand messaging.
